This little Colorado Cutthroat took a fly that I was fly casting at Honeymoon Lake. My brother caught 3 Tiger Trout on a Zebra Midge and a green wooley bugger. I caught a couple of Tiger trout on little fly patterns and some were also taken on small panther martins.
My brother, who you all know as "Mr. Bench", caught the most fish and had good success with a zebra midge trailed 24" behind a wooley bugger dragged behind a half full bubble. He landed spawning Cutthroat at Fish Creek Lake and some tigers at Honeymoon.
However I caught the biggest fish (using his green wooley bugger with a brass head).Because of the photo angle you can't get a clear idea of the girth but this was a large fishy. I guess between 2 and 3 pounds. This is the biggest brook trout I have ever caught. I plan to catch his big brother in July.
I hope that this got you all excited. We were so busy catching fish that didn't get pictures of the beautiful setting. This is an amazing place we are going and I hope that you are all as excited as I am.
